PEW
Only about nine out of every ten Americans can name Arnold Schwarzenegger as either the governor or a movie star and the same can be said for Hilary Clinton. In this Pew Research form, it almost leads you to believe that most Americans are ignorant to even our own current events. Both these figures are actively engaged in the political atmosphere even today. But, that doesn't mean that only nine and ten Americans know of them, only means that only nine and ten are interested in who they are. If you ask people who Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson are, it's guaranteed that nearly ten out of every ten will say that know who he is and what he does. It has nothing to do with education level, but more so a simple belief that if a particular group does nothing for me, then we don't care who they are. If the fact that minimum wage doesn't impact me, if I make that amount of i'm a business owner and i pay out that amount. If it doesn't effect me, why would i care what the minimum wage amount is. Grading the public on their overall knowledge of the news and what's going on can't be a true test of knowledge. If i was asked what was going on in the political world, i'd to terrible. Currently involved in the military and local law enforcement i don't care the slightest about political offices. How are these individuals being evaluated for this test being chosen. However if they are able to volunteer that also makes the poll unscientific and probably shouldn't be reported. There are so many different factors that come into play when determining what a group or even an individual truly has a firm grasp of knowledge on, to include getting people to be able to separate fact from their own personal opinion.
